Clone Rules (Alt Rules)

[Mech Tournaments, Clone Policies]

To combat the uncontrolled proliferation of clones (aka alts) and regulate their participation in the games and Mech tournaments, the craftsmen established rules that will prevent their abusive use, for the benefit of a clean and sporting participation.

At the present time and for the participation in the events organized by the Craftsmen, the clones or alts of a single pilot authorized to participate are eight (8) nice counting with the original pilot license (up to nine accounts), and in the case of clan, squad or faction tournaments (Clan Wars, Squad Wars and Faction Wars), the clones can't monopolize the unit, the said Clan, Squad or Faction must have at least three real pilots, although a discrete number of clones is allowed, always following the unwritten rules of sportsmanship and fair play.

Below, you can read the original statement by Nick Shapiro, Head of the Craftsmen.

The reference to the prohibition of a number of licenses (accounts) equal to double digits, clearly indicates that the authorized number is reduced to nine (9.-) including the original pilot, that is, no more than eight (8.-) clones or alts.

Mad Mulligan

[Galactic Threats, Personalities]

Mad Mulligan is the second M&M's (Mission Miniboss) that the mercenary pilots will face while venturing into Vupa 6.

Status: Reported as dead although his decease is unconfirmed, as many other pilots reported to continue fighting him over time. It is rumoured that the defeated ones aren't but clones from the true villains.

Last known location: Vupa 6

Known partners: Malicious

Allegiances: Droch'ah and A.M.

Known skills: His highly deranged mind has turned him immune to fear, making him an unpredictable and dangerous berserk Mech pilot.

Other features and demeanor:

The notorious madness that plagues the mind of Mad Mulligan can easily be explained by the extremely long exposure to the purple atmosphere of Vupa 6, as for the Yoram telepathic influence, longer than any known human, and his rotten flesh is yet another example of the adverse effects of its virulence. However, Mulligan's twisted mind doesn't stop him from piloting his Buccaneer with unpredictable wildness.

Mulligan's Squadron:

Always constituted by eight Mechs, usually with the following composition:
 1 Anzu. Callsign/Pilot: Bob
1 iMech. Callsign/Pilot: CraCra
1 Orcus. Callsign/Pilot: Feddy Go Gan
1 Buccaneer. Mad Mulligan's Personal Mech

2 Vupa Walkers. Callsigns/Pilots: Malicious, Meathead
2 Bone Walkers. Callsign/Pilots: Sparkplug, Sinful Sue

Malicious

[Galactic Threats, Personalities]

Malicious is a Minor Enemy, in slang one of those called M&M's (Mission Miniboss) and the first of the threats that most of the mercenary Mech pilots will face in the dreadful purple surface of Vupa 6.

Status: Reported as dead although his decease is unconfirmed, as many other pilots reported to continue fighting him over time.

Last known location: Vupa 6

Known partners: Darius Darknoll from the Darknoll gang at Cogwerk Port. Also, is reported to work in collaboration with A.M. (Artificial Mind)

Allegiances: Droch'ah servant.

Known skills: Minor Telepathic Abilities of Communication.

Other features and demeanor:

Malicious has dark hair, a profusely pale face decorated with terrifying scars and piercings. His gaze is penetrating, with a spark of madness as it is his permanent and sinister grin.

Because of his long stay exposed to the atmosphere of Vupa 6 and the service and mental conditioning of the Forerunner Droch'ah, Malicious seems to present serious mental disorders, which, however, doesn't seem to reduce his capabilities as a skilled Mech pilot nor his unconditional loyalty to his Forerunner Master.

He fights with a squad of remotely controlled Mechs, perhaps with the support of A.M., although this is only a theory. A.M. is known to operate in Vupa 6 after its defeat in its past attempt to take over the Galaxy.

Malicious Squadron:

Always constituded by eight Mechs, usually with the following composition:

1 Red Ant. Callsign: Ripstop Russel
2 Anzus. Callsigns: Bob & Bobbet
1 Shocklite. Callsign: MemBraine
1 iMech. Callsign: Bullet Betty
  1 Holmes. Callsign: Screwball

1 Vupa Walker. Callsign: Mad Mulligan (Mulligan sometimes drives a Holmes)
1 Bone Walker. Call Sign: FANG

Cogwerk Decay and Illyrian Expansion

[History, War]

SoCP Flag
The political confrontation that emerged in the Society of Cogwerk Planets (SoCP), stemming from the growing pirate plague, took on a more serious dimension in 3329, when the increasingly serious presence of the incursions of the mysterious King of the Pirates gave rise to hegemony to snatch a portion of its territory to the SoCP.

The leadership of Duke Crimson, supported by Talbus Arms, demonstrated total ineffectiveness in combating the problem of increasing piracy.

The reality was that the Pirate King and his forces began to take entire worlds, especially large mining production outposts, increasingly weakening a SoCP stranded in a complex and ineffective administrative and political situation.

Illyrian Hegemony Flag
The Illyrian Hegemony then initiated a campaign that would allow them to expand at the expense of SoCP, eluding the argument of a frontal attack against the increasingly weakened SoCP with the diplomatic excuse of maintaining the galactic order, fighting those worlds close to the Hegemony that had been taken by the pirates.

The plan of the Illyrian Hegemony was simply and effective: They began to send armed forces to the worlds occupied by the pirates, and after their liberation, secured them by stable and well-armed garrisons. Through this successful expansionist maneuver, the Illyrian exploited a way that allowed them to scratch many worlds to the SoCP.

Leviathan

[Legendary Clan]

Clan Registry number # 6177

Leviathan was forged in 3321 with an alloy of Legendary Pilots coming from the crews of two of the older and mightier clans: The Highlander (HF) and Zeon.

The goal was to allow in the Division One a successful competition for the champions' throne against the allmighty clan Juggernaut, heir and continuity of the champion clan Fusion. With this goal, Leviathan took the position held before by Zeon and PhoenixStorm as the direct and stronger rival to attempt to dethrone the champions.

From their foundation until 3328, year in which Juggernaut disbanded, giving way to a new clan named as "Warlock", Leviathan struggled against their rivals, who kept earning the gold, although Leviathan has been close to defeat them and often their battles were a tight fight and an exercise of mastery tactics.

As the second most powerful mech elite unit in the galaxy, Leviathan has often been involved in the most complicated and dangerous operations to guarantee the stability of the galaxy and defend the mankind from both external and internal aggressions.

KotM Reports

[Mech Tournaments]

Since 3220, the pilot and journalist Sten Hugo Hiller started a series of reports on the "King of the Mountain" circuits (KotM), which soon acquired a growing number of followers among the avid spectators of the Mech Games and the lovers of the indiscriminate destruction of metal, crystal and niobium produced in such kind of events.
Classic ad of the competition
Soon, the ANN contacted and hired the services of the intrepid journalist, who often participated in the action himself, transmitting his articles on stage, with a high risk of personal injuries during the hard competition. Later, as the winter came on 3330, Sten got a contract with Mechanomicon, starting his own section there to continue his chronicles of the most famous of all circuits celebrated in the whole galaxy.

These reports are generally made available to readers sometime between the end of the last KotM and the beginning of the following KotM.

The reports contest varies a bit, because the KotMs have different formats, but they in general consists of the following:

1) Heading. Presentation of the contest, including name and the standard galactic time.

2) Personal experiences from and around the contest.

3) List of winners of the various divisions. There is generally a some other info as well;
  • Amount of contestants in each division.
  • Name of winner and (an abbreviated) name of clan if they are members of one.
  • How long the top position was held. In Chrono`s this is changed to how many points lead they had to second place.
In case of Pointmech the model of Mech used is also included.

4. Total numbers of contestants, and of Medals claimed.
  • In case of weight limits there is a list of how many Medals in each division and total went to overweight formations.
5. Comparison to the last event regarding number of contestants and unclaimed Medals.

6. An analysis of the results, including what clan got most Golds, repeat and/or unaligned winners.

7. If possible, an interview with one of the winners. Here the reports have some limits:
  • Must be from the Contest presented.
  • Must be at least 2-3 (standard months) since last interview.
  • Must get in touch with the article writer, and both must have free time (it takes about an hour and the Interviewed gets 30 Niodes).
8. Presentation of the upcoming KotM, including name, format and considerations to be aware of.

9. End time of the upcoming KotM. (Standard time)

10. Highly optional. A presentation of some Mech, weapon or equipment that should or could be considered in the event by at least some of the contestants.
