Practically
hidden by the convulsed surface orography of the punished surface of Yomi, he found an
incredibly old Forerunner enclave. The installation itself, although of
extraordinary interest to science by the indications of a superior technology,
paled in comparison with that the Chessmen found inside: A full squadron
of crimson Mechs of menacing appearance even in their passive state. The units
found were endowed with a destructive power such that the first technicians who
approached to examine as extraordinary finding were burned by the passive
defenses of those Mechs that were baptized with the name of Ignis (Fire),
the last word recorded by the transmissions audio received at the base camp.
The Ignis class
Mech was built using Forerunner technology, mimicking the Stegosaurus Armatus,
ancient dinosaurs from the Late Jurassic Period of Old Terra, and capable of
releasing very high amounts of thermodynamic energy with which to reduce to
ashes any opponent unconscious enough to approach without the necessary
protection.
The RND
incorporated the Ignis into their vanguard Clan, sending one of the most
damaged prototypes to their current contractors, the Shogunate. AlphaCorp, the Shogunate all mighty manufacturer promptly initiated a reverse
engineering study, deciphering for the most part the intricate Forerunner engineering
and launching this monster in their production chains.
The Ignis finding was the prelude to Yomi's infestation of scouts sent by the various Great and Minor Powers as well as a swarm of mercenary clans, eager to find similar settlements, in the hope of becoming rich and powerful, and certainly their expectations were not disappointed, because the secrets of Yomi became unlocked for the fortune of some, although also in a graveyard for many others.

Trivia
Stegosaurus was a sauropod of the Late Jurassic Old Terran period (between 155 and 150 million years ago). This saurian was large, heavily built, herbivorous quadrupeds with rounded back, short fore limbs, long hind limbs, and tail held high in the air.
Easy to identify due to the distinctive double row of kite-shaped plates rising vertically along the rounded back and the two pairs of long spikes extending horizontally near the end of the tail. While the function of this array of plates and spikes has been the subject of much speculation, it was generally agreed that their spiked tails had a defensive use against predators, while their plates may have been used primarily for display, and secondarily for thermoregulatory functions.
Although large individuals could grow up to 9 m (29.5 ft) in length and 5.3 to 7 tonnes (12,000 to 15,000 lb) in weight, the various species of Stegosaurus were dwarfed by contemporaries, the giant sauropods. Some form of armor appears to have been necessary, as Stegosaurus species coexisted with large predatory theropod dinosaurs, such as Allosaurus and Ceratosaurus.
Stegosaurus had a relatively low brain-to-body mass ratio. It had a short neck and a small head, meaning it most likely ate low-lying bushes and shrubs.
The name Stegosaurus means "covered lizard", in reference to its bony plates.
Stegosaurus was one of the best-known dinosaurs during the digital age, and has been featured in vintage film, postal stamps, and many other types of old media.
