Anzu

[Mech Technology - Mecha]
Designed to be a fast scout or to harass enemy forces in swarms of squads able to make quick tactical moves in the battle field, the Illyrian Hegemony engineers gave to the light Anzu a mighty power plant, sacrificing any other feature like the size of the cabinet, the robustness of the chassis or the presence of any shielding.

The result, although fragile and unable to withstand a direct impact, offered a Mech that became the paradigm of speed, reaching speeds higher than any other Mech can reach.

Although the engineers purged the design of any equipment that might have overloaded the weight of the main structure in their aim of obtaining a quick Mech, the power plant became excessively powerful and, therefore, can produce an overheating capable of affecting the targeting systems, causing the unwanted effect of kickback.

Another defect caused by its excessive speed is that the stabilizers can not give the Anzu a sufficient balance while moving as to allow a remarkable maneuverability and avoidance, which together with the lack of shields exposes the Anzu to the enemy fire.

Despite the cons, the Anzu is so cheap and easy to pilot, making this Mech a very valid option for missions of exploration, harassment or even employed in routine escort operations.

    WarHorse

    [Mech Technology]
The WarHorse is the creation of Dr. Hephaestus Gnaeus Wells, historian, scientist and engineer, who named his first successful design as the ancient Pre-Digital Dark Age horses used for fighting, which included either light and heavy cavalry, reconnaissance, logistical support, or steeds for individual combat.

This Mech excels in scouting and logistic operations in hostile environments, with capability to freeze an enemy and avoid the battle in case of encounter with heavier forces.

The lack of bounds with any of the big manufacturers from any of the Major or Minor Powers as have been produced by an independent manufacturer, made from this Mech a popular choice among clandestine pilots, whiling to avoid any control for the respective governments, as also an statement for rebels.

But if this light Mech has the favour of all sorts of outlaw pilots, regular and elite pilots, such as the mercenary Pilots and those of the armies of the Major and Minor Powers tend to despise the potential of the WarHorse because its limited benefits for a Niode technology Mech, preferring to use other more effective or cheaper Mechs, depending the situation.

      Charon Discovered

      [NEWS]
During the year 3333, September, just after the fight between the general Illyrian Scipio Aemilianus and the mercenary clans on the boundary between the Hegemony and the Cogwerk planetary society, several pilots commissioned by General Nova on reconnaissance missions reported sightings and even captures of a new and mysterious Mech UFM class: the massive Charon.

As soon as the news spread among the mercenary pilots, the entire galaxy became a boiling cauldron of Mecha activity, with several scattered clans and wandering around looking for a new Charon to include in their hangars.

Soon, the mystery cleared: The pirate clan known as Kanabo Krusher had stolen a complete shipment of AlphaCorp with the new Mech. An ultraheavy model that the Shogunate manufacturer had secretly completed and wanted to promote by hosting a great circuit of the King of the Mountain in which the champions could acquire one of the newer Charons.

Although Kanabo Krusher managed to steal the shipment, they were fiercely pursued by the authorities, being forced to scatter and later abandon their precious booty in their desperate flight, booty quickly and completely "recovered" by mercenary pilots once the first lucky pilots spreaded the news to the speed of light.

AlphaCorp did not resign to cancel the event and replaced the lost units with a second shipment, announcing throughout the galaxy the celebration of an unprecedented KotM event, in which the best of the best pilots could be rewarded with one of the pristine Charon prototypes.

          Ouroboros

          [Astronomy, Locations]

Ouroboros is a massive orbital ring fortress and space battle-station, constructed by Dragon engineers in collaboration with some of the most prestigious scientists and engineers of the galaxy, hosting the base and headquarters of the legendary Dragon mercenary faction.

Like the mythological draconian snake that bites its tail forming a ring, symbol and representation of the earth and of the eternity, Ouroboros is an annular artificial planet, created from a modular belt that feeds on the energy of both, the system star and on the planets that host it, such as gas giants.

When it is necessary to move this colossal planetary orbital station, the segments of the serpent-dragon separate and make a new transit to settle again on a new planet of the Dragon Staff election.

Each of the segments constitutes a combat station capable of space jump and capable of becoming a command center from which to orchestrate and direct the operations of multiple war scenarios, which has been of great help to General Abbott, the which has maintained absolute control over the situation of its multiple Dragon units, rarely broken by the unforeseen changes of chance.
          Dragons Banner (by GJ)
          Etymology and Symbology

The Ouroboros (also uroboros) (from the Greek ĪæĻ…ĻĪæĪ²Ć³ĻĪæĻ‚ [į½„Ļ†Ī¹Ļ‚], '[snake] that eats the tail') is a symbol that shows to a draconian or serpentine animal that swallows its own tail and that forms, with its body, a circular shape. The uroboros symbolizes the eternal cycle of things, also the eternal effort, the eternal struggle or the useless effort, since the cycle begins again despite the actions to prevent it.

its oldest use was in the emblematic snake of Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. The uroboros go back to the hieroglyphics found in the chamber of the sarcophagus of the pyramid of Unis, in 2300 a.C. The traditional symbol consists of a dragon or a snake that bites its tail and creates an endless circle.

          Government: Military Protectorate of Dragon

          Capital: Jormungand.

          Description

Each ring section constitutes in itself an orbital fortress and combat station, headquarters and industrial plant where various Mechs components and spare parts are stored, restored and eventually produced.

The rings collect, store and redistribute the solar energy they collect, using the surplus to feed both the defensive shields, batteries of combat stations, propulsion systems.

The structure of each segment is so robust that it has shown great resilience even to the attempts to dismantle it, when the Dragon engineers wanted to cancel an earlier model to replace it with the current segments.

Each Dragon Clan has a headquarters in one of the many segments of Ouroboros, where they enjoy all the facilities that a clan could wish for.

          History

It is rumored that Ouroboros has been built from blueprints of Forerunner technology found in a hidden cache, discovered by the squad of the leader of the Dragons: Scott Abbott, during the campaign against Droch'ah of 3288. Scott at that time was a high AFF planning staff officer.

He jealously guarded his booty without hope that this colossal project would have any chance of being built. But when he split from AFF in 3304 with a large contingent of loyal elite pilots, creating his own faction: Dragons and against all odds coming to dominate the view of Mech competitions in a wide divisional arc, the fortune that Dragons began to amass allowed to materialize the crazy project.

Since its creation, the Ouroboros ring station has been installed on three different host planets, whose original name has always been renamed as Draconis Alpha, Beta and Gamma, according to the order of each new colonization, being the original names of the host planets: Tsorah-7, Jupiter IXXX and Xi 8821-E.

The current host planet (Xi 8821-E or Draconis Gamma) is an uninhabitable gas giant, from which Ouroboros is extracting important resources that are traded to acquire the needed components to keep the repair of the damaged Mechs in the endless combats that the Dragon faction fights through the whole galaxy.

Although Ouroboros constitutes the main core of Dragons, the faction has a long list of outposts and concessions on other planets obtained by right of conquest or claimed after the non-payment of some contract with the three major powers, as well as some other locations in the fringe of the Galaxy.

          Industry

The industry of Ouroboros adapts to the one of the host planet, but always directed to the supply, repair and construction of the Mechs that constitute the countless legion of the units Dragon.

At times, Oroboros has been a guest of some planet in which important deposits of Niobium were discovered, which greatly favored the Dragon clans, which were enriched enough to incorporate numerous units and large packages of Niode equipment.

          Military Training

Ouroboros provides Mech Warfare training to all its members, constituting one of the most prestigious military academies of all times. As a statement to this, the Dragon clans have distinguished themselves year after year as champions in their respective divisions on numerous occasions.
