Herod

[Galactic Threats, Personalities]

Fourth and last M&M's (slang for Mission Miniboss) in Vupa-6

Herod was in the past a brilliant commander of the Illyrian Hegemony army who took part in the first deployment in Vupa-6, long before the planet was evacuated by the Illyrians because of its aggressive purple atmosphere and the insidious effects of the planet on the minds of its inhabitants, a problem initially attributed to its atmosphere and which we now know was caused by the hidden presence of the Yoram, a telepathic alien race hostile to the human species.

The madness that soon manifested itself among the colonists and military men stationed in Vupa-6, caused the Hegemony to adopt the decision to leave the outpost.

However, Herod disobeyed the evacuation orders and, together with some of his soldiers, defected, ready to continue the mission that had been assigned to him at first.

However, in a short time it became evident that madness had taken over Herod.

Herod created a small army, recruiting new troops who joined those who originally followed him into exile from the virulent purple planet.

Persuaded that the purple mist could be used to alter the mental state in his own benefit, he began to experiment creating new drugs with which to create more dangerous pilots.

The combined effects of the drugs and the atmosphere brought about by the Yoram hidden in Vupa-6 eventually caused an extensive skin necrosis of Herod and many of his followers, who manifested delusions, paranoia and other mental disorders.
