26 February
In the Old Terra Celtic country known as Ireland, the Saint Patrick's Day or feast of Saint Patrick was celebrated on 17 March, traditional death date of Saint Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland.
This celebration, made a public holiday for all Irish, involved social gatherings with music and dance, public parades, festivals and the wearing of green outfits or shamrocks, as Irish symbols.
With the course of time, St Patrick's Day became a big celebration among all the Irish diaspora, spread all along Old Terra and later, through the Galaxy when the gateways secrets became unlocked.
In 2876, a terrible incident took place during a mass celebration in the Martian Outpost of Megalopolis, where many anti-imperialist rebels used St. Patrick's Day to commit numerous terrorist attacks. The number of victims rose above a thousand and authorities overwhelmed by the prevailing panic, decreed martial law, with a forceful military intervention that only turned worse the situation.
When the authorities regained control of the outpost, civilian casualties had tripled.
Before the happenings, the Irish Community on Old Terra was outraged by the sacrilege perpetrated in what was to be a day of peace and celebration. Representatives of the Irish Nation reclaimed their holiday so it couldn't be celebrated outside of Old Terra, reclamation that was approved by Imperial Decree.
However, the Outsider Irish and friends of the Irish culture (or from any celebration), kept coming together to drink beer and wear greenish attires on a newly designated day, the chosen day was the 26 February, and they called it as the Lucky Clover Day.
Green Attires & Clovers
Green is the Irish national colour, which represents them from antiquity, distinguishing the Irish Catholics from Protestants, who used orange as their badge (both, old Christian Cults originated in Old Terra), greens are also the broad Irish countryside and hills and green is the clover, which representes St. Patrick, Saint and Patron of Ireland.
The clover, frenquent in the Irish fields, is said to have been employed by St. Patrick to explain to the commoners the mystery of the Holy Trinity. Also, the clover has been associated with good luck, not only by the influence of the saint, but by the fact that four leaves clovers, in particular, are extremely rare (it is estimated that a rare four leaves clover can be found for every 10,000 three leaves clovers).
Terraformed planets in which there is an Irish community (big or small, no matter) frequently count on the incorporation of clover within the autochthonous flora.

For this reason, it is a tradition to wear the green and the use of shamrock during this celebration.
