This Mech Category encompasses all Mechs with a tonnage between 10 to 25 Tons.
The Light Mechs are among the oldest of all Mechs that have been created since the introduction of the Red Ant in 3087, which revolutionized the concept of war, thus initiating a new era in which Mech technology would be dominant, creating a new paradigm in the Galaxy.
Although in the beginning, these Mechs constituted the most powerful existing war machines, as well as the advancement of Mech technology and the Niodes progressed, other heavier and more powerful Mechs were created that would alter the evolution of Mech warfare, pushing the oldest and lightest Mechs into the roles of scouting, exploration, harassment and guerrilla warfare.
