The Galaxy Gathering

[News Network, Society]

The Galaxy Gathering (GG) is one of the great News Publishing Networks in the Galaxy, specialized in news relevant to the Mecha Warfare.

They follow an open news sharing policy, allowing the wide mecha pilot community to submit their own stories, reviews and mecha gossip.

GG has also a team of liaisons and free-lance journalists travelling across the gateways in pursuit of the latest and newest breaking news. All the Staff members and co-workers in "The Galaxy Gathering" are renowned and skilled mecha pilots.

Check here if you want to submit original articles, stories, gossip or art-work

Submissions Requirements
  • GG doesn't want to double up on posts. Any already submitted (and published) submission into A.N.N. or MeGaCom or even the Mechanomicon won't be published as G.G. is trying to keep original content, avoiding duplications between the different networks. (Submitting into the Galactic Open Forum and to GG is fine).
  • Stories (Lore is perfectly fine, so long as it follows the already established existing in the Galaxy lore and doesn't go too far off the path).
  • Galaxy Gossip, fun, frivolous or outright untrue news articles, although anything deemed malicious such as name calling or calling out of anyone will not be published as GG isn't a political or a personal argumentative place.
  • Mecha, equipment and weapon reviews.
  • Faction and Clan Banners and any other art-design.
  • Please remember to include your pilot license number along with your name.

History

April, 3281.
The Galaxy Gathering officially debuted as a News Host created by Patrick Willis to keep every pilot informed about the ongoing news in the Galaxy, but also, as a living forum to keep the feedback of the Mecha Pilot Community, so as to voice their will regarding organizations like the Galactic Senate or the Mecha Games & Tournaments Direction.

The starting GG Staff was comprised of:
  • Patrick Willis, Managing Director & Chief Editor (Pilot License # 224534)
  • Deborah Roaché-Hudak. Editor and Journalist (Pilot License # )
  • Joel Parras (aka KilotoneRecoil), The Brotherhood Liaison & Galaxy Gossip Section- Editor (Pilot License # 637457)
  • Sgt Ron Frye, GG Journalist (Pilot License #879655)

Patrick Willis, who initially worked as an editor and journalist with the ANN (Asterion News Network), decided to create his own News Group, incorporating fresh and new ideas, looking to preserve the Galactic Lore and striving for excellence.

Although the first Staff members were all of them pilots from the Brotherhood (Mecha Faction), Patrick Willis, as Director of the G.G. always tried to keep the GG platform as neutral as possible, in order to work as the voice of all Mecha Pilots.

In 3292, with the incorporation of Steven Ross and Hugo Sten Hiller, then in 3299 with David McCallum and finally, in 3307 with the addition of Kenneth Hicks, the Galaxy Gathering acquired new blood from outside the Brotherhood, winning a wider vision and winds of universality, matching with the always pursued Patrick's goals to create a Network for every Pilot.
  • Steve Ross, Zeon's Liaison Editor. (Pilot License # 162076)
  • Sten Hugo Hiller. Star League Liaison and Events journalist. (Pilot License # 627184)
  • David McCallum, Heroes' Liaison & Editor. (Pilot License # 701548)
  • Kenneth Hicks, Dragon's Liaison, Story and Events Editor. (Pilot License # 846092)

Since its creation, GG has proved to be an excellent News Editorial Group, often antagonistic to ANN fighting for the spectators and readers Galactic Share, with peaks of open fire sometimes, and tense peace on other occasions... And is that, competition is the competition.
